Word artwork: in conversation and performance

  • Chrissie Cotter Gallery 31a Pidcock Street Camperdown, NSW, 2050 Australia (map)

with Gillian Swain and Magdalena Ball

To celebrate our love lines word artwork experiment, The Salons presents poets Gillian Swain and Magdalena Ball, in conversation with Salons curator Angie Contini, for an afternoon of enchanting poetry performance and passionate discussion.

Our word artwork experiment is a uniquely interdisciplinary project. Writers were invited to submit new, unpublished words that speak to the theme of love lines. Artists were given the words to create visual artworks. The result is an explosion of creativity, showing the ways in which art infiltrates and transforms an idea. Our artists and writers cover the gamut of love’s meanings, to forge works of love through the powerful interplay of text, image and art object.

To complement our exhibition, audience members are also invited to join The Salons exhibiting artists and writers, and contribute their words and images of love to our collective interactive installation.

Ticket price includes refreshments.

Children welcome if accompanied by an adult, children under three years free.
